This Privacy Policy explains how PDFfans ("we", "us", "our") collects, uses and protects information when you use our website (www.pdffans.com) and its tools. We are committed to transparency and data minimization, and we align our practices with the core principles of the GDPR and CCPA.
1. Our Commitment
We design our service around privacy and simplicity. Most tools can be used without creating an account, we do not analyze the contents of your documents, and we do not sell your personal data to anyone.
2. How Your Files Are Processed
To perform conversions, compression, merging, editing and similar tasks, your file is uploaded over a secure, encrypted (HTTPS/TLS) connection to our processing servers. Once your task is complete:
- Your files and the generated output are automatically and permanently deleted from our servers within 1 hour of processing, and no later than 2 hours. We keep no copies of your files.
- We do not read, copy, share or use the contents of your documents for any purpose other than performing the task you requested.
- We do not build a profile from your file contents.
3. Information We Collect
- No mandatory personal data: Many tools work without an account or any personal information.
- Account data (optional): If you create an account, we collect your email address and a securely hashed password.
- Contact & subscription: If you contact us or opt in to updates, we collect your name and email solely to respond or send communications you requested.
- System logs: For security and reliability, our servers may temporarily log basic technical data (IP address, timestamp, browser/user-agent). These logs are deleted automatically within 30 days and are not used to profile you.
4. Cookies
We may use cookies to keep you signed in, remember preferences, and understand aggregate usage. Cookies may also be used in connection with advertising if enabled. You can manage or disable cookies in your browser settings, though some features may not work as intended without them.
5. Communications

7. Children's Privacy
PDFfans is not directed to children and does not knowingly collect personal information from children under the age of 13 (or the minimum age required in your jurisdiction, which is 16 in parts of the EEA). If you believe a child has provided us data, contact privacy@pdffans.com and we will delete it promptly.
8. Your Rights
Depending on your location, you may have the right to access, correct, delete or export the personal data you provided, and to object to certain processing. To exercise these rights, email privacy@pdffans.com. We aim to respond within 30 days.
9. Security
All connections are protected with HTTPS/TLS encryption. We apply reasonable technical and organizational measures, review our configuration periodically, and minimize the data we collect by design. No method of transmission or storage is 100% secure, so we cannot guarantee absolute security.
10. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Material changes will be posted on this page with a new effective date. Continued use of the site after updates constitutes acceptance of the revised policy.
