Good to know: this tool reads the text that is already inside the PDF and guesses the columns from the gaps between words. It cannot see table borders, so tightly packed columns, merged cells or text that wraps inside a cell can land in the wrong place. Check the CSV before you rely on it. Rows follow the page from top to bottom, and cells run from left to right. A scanned PDF has no text to read, and its CSV will say No content found on this page: run it through OCR PDF first. The files are plain UTF-8 without a byte-order mark, so a spreadsheet may show accented letters wrongly until you import the file as UTF-8.
Drop the PDF onto the tool, leave the settings as they are and click Convert to CSV. Each page downloads as its own CSV file, or you can take all of them in one ZIP. Tables with clear gaps between the columns give the cleanest result.
Columns are guessed from the gaps between words, not from table borders. Two columns that sit close together can merge into one cell, and a cell that wraps onto two lines becomes two rows. Set Detect Tables to No to get one text line per row, or tidy the CSV in a spreadsheet.
Yes. Each page is read from the top down, and the cells in a row run from left to right.
Not directly. A scan is a picture of text, and this tool only reads real text, so the CSV for that page says No content found on this page. Run the file through an OCR tool first, then convert the result.
No. Your file stays on your device. The text is read by your browser, and the CSV files are created there too.
Your file size limit is shown on this page, and a free account raises it.
No account. No upload queues. No fine print. Just pick a tool and you're done.
