PDF to Excel Converter
Convert PDF documents to Excel spreadsheets (.xlsx format)
How to Convert PDF to Excel
- Drop your PDF onto the tool, or click Select File. One PDF at a time.
- Click Convert to Excel. A progress bar counts through the pages. It all runs in your browser tab.
- Let the download start. Your browser saves your-file-name_converted.xlsx when the conversion finishes.
- Open the workbook. Each PDF page is its own sheet (Page_1, Page_2 and so on). Text that sat on one line of the page is one row, and words separated by a wide gap go into separate columns.
- Check the columns. Look over any table before you build on it. Merged cells or tightly packed columns may need a small manual fix.
Why Use This PDF to Excel Converter
- Your file stays on your device. The PDF is read by code running in your browser tab. Nothing is sent to a server.
- Rows and columns, not a list. Each line of the page becomes a row, and gaps between words start a new column. Numbers that are right-aligned in the PDF stay in one column.
- Numbers are real numbers. Values such as 1,234.50 arrive as numeric cells you can sum right away. Codes with a leading zero, like 007, stay as text.
- One sheet per page. A 10-page PDF gives you a workbook with 10 sheets.
- Output is a normal .xlsx file. It opens in Excel, Google Sheets and LibreOffice.
Good to know: the tool reads the text already inside the PDF and guesses columns from the gaps between words. It cannot see table borders, so merged cells, wrapped text inside a cell or columns packed close together can land in the wrong place. Currency symbols and percentages stay as text. There is no OCR, so a scanned or image-only page gets a single note saying no text was found. Password-protected PDFs will not open. It always converts every page of the file.
FAQ
How do I convert a PDF to Excel?
Drop your PDF onto the tool, click Convert to Excel and the .xlsx file downloads. Each page of the PDF becomes its own sheet in the workbook.
Does it keep my tables as rows and columns?
Yes, as far as the text allows. Each line becomes a row, and a wide gap between words starts a new column. Table borders are not read, so check merged cells and tightly packed columns afterwards.
Will the numbers work in formulas?
Plain numbers such as 25 or 1,234.50 are saved as numeric cells, so SUM works at once. Values with a currency symbol or a percent sign, and codes with a leading zero, stay as text on purpose.
Why is my Excel sheet empty or showing a note?
Your PDF page is probably a scan or an image, so it has no text to read. The sheet then holds one line saying no text was found. This tool has no OCR, so run the PDF through an OCR step first and convert the result.
Can I convert only some pages?
Not in this tool. It converts every page of the PDF, one file at a time. Delete the sheets you do not need once the workbook is open.
Is my PDF uploaded anywhere?
No. The conversion runs in your browser, so your file stays on your device. Your file size limit is shown on this page, and a free account raises it.
