Good to know: this tool reads the text that is already inside the PDF. A scanned document, or a photo saved as a PDF, has no text to read, so the result comes out empty. There is no OCR here. Layout is kept line by line, so tables and multi-column pages may need a quick tidy afterwards. The output is plain text only: no fonts, colors or images.
Drop the PDF onto the tool, leave the settings as they are and click Convert to Text. Each page can be downloaded as a .txt file, or you can take everything in one ZIP.
The PDF is probably a scan or a photo. Those files contain pictures of words, not the words themselves, and this tool can only read real text. You would need OCR software to turn the pictures into text first.
No. Your file stays on your device. The text is extracted by your browser, so the document never travels anywhere.
Yes starts a new line wherever the text moves down the page, so the result looks like the original lines. No joins everything into one continuous run of text, which is easier to paste into an email or a document.
Yes. Click the trash icon on the pages you want to leave out before you press Convert to Text. Only the pages still in the grid are extracted.
Each PDF can be as large as your plan allows; the limit is shown on this page.
No account. No upload queues. No fine print. Just pick a tool and you're done.
